Many communities around the world have taken the journey from considering water reuse (recycling) to accepting it as part of their drinking water supplies. This path can be challenging but in each case the benefit of water reuse as a safe, sustainable, reliable and climate resilient source of pure water has been the reward.
This research-based site analyses the social issues around water reuse for drinking, based on international experience, and identifies the elements for implementing a successful program.
Developed by the Australian-based Water Recycling Centre of Excellence, with funding from the Australian Commonwealth Government, this website offers information, guidance and practical tools for water providers planning agencies and the community to have a meaningful conversation about water reuse for drinking.
"Even a small amount of education can make people feel more knowledgeable about water issues, improve public understanding of the water cycle and increase support for water reuse."
